  • Peach Bowl 1/1 12:00 ESPN

    Georgia is the opponent.

I'm not sure how many fans they are allowing in Atlanta for this. UCATS members should watch their email. Normally we'd be seriously outnumbered by their fans since it's basically a home game for them but I haven't seen attendance policies yet. The game is at Mercedes Stadium which is a dome so I have no idea what to expect here.

Normally I'd be ecstatic about this site and game but with COVID-19, this might be one of those years where people need to buy tickets even if you're not attending so the Dept doesn't have to eat the allotment.

UGA finished 7-2 and the losses were to Bama and Florida. We have our work cut out for us but it can be done. They haven't played a game since 12/12 and a lot of people are forecasting they will have a lot of NFL Draft defections that won't stick around for this game. (We might too). They went through a QB change dureing the season from Stetson Bennett to JT Daniels. Just looking at the stats briefly , Daniels has the better stats and QB rating. In loooking at the 9 game totals on Offense, they don't strike me as an offensive juggernaut. I'll take a lookat the rest of their team stats later.

They also have the best run defense in the country (against SEC teams too, allowing only 69.5 yards rushing/game) in the nation.

This will be a test on line with UC playing Florida in the Sugar Bowl. Let's hope our coach doesn't "bolt" right before the game.

I’d like someone non-P5 to take a stand and say forgot the $, GA is not a worthy opponent for this team and lead a breakaway from the CFP - go to one of the steaming platforms and pitch a 16 team tournament that included the 5-20 teams and generate a ton of $$$ that the P5 would never see.

I saw someone suggest that UC and Coastal Carolina should opt out of their bowl and schedule a PPV event.

I don't think our conference would allow it. They make a good deal of money for the conference be playing this game. Not sure we'd make enough from the PPV to cover it. It is a very interesting concept though. Breaking away to show we have $$ value also and that they don't have a monopoly on college football revenue.

I was reading on the Georgia boards a rumor about Ridder opting out. Has anyone heard anything to support that?

No way... you saw how emotional Ridder was after the game Saturday. No way he would let his teammates down by opting out.

The only way this might be true is his fiancé had or will soon have their child. Maybe he will not want to endanger the child by playing? But I agree with BC, this is very unlikely.

Seven Georgia starters are not going to play, and that number may get bigger.......UGASports has confirmed that as many as seven current Bulldogs will decline Georgia's bowl opportunity, with more names possibly coming. They'll turn their attention to the next phase in their football lives: prepping for the NFL combine and all-star games.

The Bearcat twitter account just put out a "Riding with RIdder" tweet thread. Might be a coincidence but seems like they've been reading the message boards and are trying to shoot this rumor down.

Does anyone know where this rumor actually originated? The UGA boards got it from us, where'd it come from here?
