Recruit new staff, stabilize the new recruiting class AND the current players considering entering the portal. Degree of difficulty extremely high. Hard to see anyone succeeding in their first year. I'm trying to maintain optimism but it's pretty hard at this point.

I think Deion and Urban can immediately. I am not convinced any other candidates can.

I'd go all in on Deion.

Remember Dave Andrews? He was a Grad Asst. and then the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach here from 2005 to 2011. He went to Illinois, Notre Dame, and Pitt before landing at Iowa State in 2020 as the Director of Strength and Conditioning. In their Football guide he's described as "... one of the most revered football strength and conditioning coaches in the nation, is in his third season as Director of Football Strength and Conditioning."

Anyway, I guess he's not so revered anymore as he was let go yesterday along with ISU's OC.

            So, I guess he's available.

Justin Wodtly would like to keep Coombs, Stewart on staff. Dontay Corleone agrees.

Is Tressel gone for sure? With Luke keeping Leonhardt in Wisc, what would be the role for Treseel?

Bryan Brown (associate head coach/D coordinator/CB) and Pete Thomas (QB) were among the names that Chad Brendel mentioned on last night's BCJ BBP podcast as guys who could come over to UC. https://gocards.com/sports/football/coaches

He said Kerry Coombs is no sure thing -- perhaps more on him having options and not necessarily that KC is not wanting to say.

I'm sure Coach Satt has some guys already working for him (i.e., recruiting) even if not official yet.

Saw this posted on BCJ by Mick Walker (not a VIP post) -- potential S&C coach to consider, Luke Day from South Carolina. He's from Hamilton/has worked at UC and with the Bengals (among other local/regional ties) https://gamecocksonline.com/staff/luke-day/

I'm unsure as what position Leonhard is going to take on the new staff. It may not be DC. I still expect Tressel to go up there. They may do the Co-DC thing

Deion's impact is immediately noticeable - good and bad. The amount of buzz he generates is amazing. The circus he brings is equally amazing. Supposedly 200 players have contacted him about transferring. On the other hand, he told the Colorado kids to hit the portal and he was bringing in his own guys. He has already announced his son will be the quarterback. His crusade for HBC I guess was only until he could get another better gig. The turnaround should be immediate for them but the ethics involved will be compromised. I guess you get what you asked for with this hire. If winning is the ultimate objective and at any cost, they have their man. He could have done the same for UC but I am kinda glad we won't have to deal with all the external BS.

Kind of random comment and certainly far down the line of priorities in terms of "staff." But UC football's social media took a big step under Fickell thanks to Kelsey Sharkey, who is now in an "associate AD" role. I'd imagine Fickell would want to bring her to Wisconsin. Kelsey's alma mater / prior employer before coming to UC? App State, while Satterfield was the head coach.

Tressel, Mike Brown and Colin Hitchsler are all out recruiting for Wisconsin according to Pate Thamel. They gone.

                                Via Justin Williams:

Sense has been that Cincinnati OC Gino Guidugli will follow Luke Fickell to Wisconsin, but nothing is finalized.

Guidugli is also a candidate for HC job at Western Michigan and OC at Kentucky, sources told @TheAthleticCFB.

WMU candidacy was first reported by @FootballScoop.
