The game in Lincoln was supposed to be in 2020, so it was cancelled. The 2025 return game was supposed to be in Nippert. There was a compromise to play it in Indy as a UC "home game", to allow both teams to sell more tickets. Now, apathy on the UC side has us considering moving it to K.C. since Nebraska will buy 80% of the tickets. There is no longer a game in Lincoln.

The Bearcats will serve as the designated home team for the game at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, and UC will still play seven home games inside Nippert Stadium in 2025, including welcoming five conference opponents: Arizona, BYU, Baylor, Iowa State and UCF.
Cincinnati and Nebraska also announced they have changed the date of a previously scheduled matchup at Memorial Stadium. The teams will now meet in Lincoln on Sept. 10, 2033, after previously being scheduled to play in the 2032 season.
"We weren't looking to move it, didn't want to move it from Indy but got a cold call from Arrowhead and a group that was looking to put a game together," UC AD John Cunningham said. "We didn't know if they could get us to where we needed to go financially, but they did. We feel like we can get close to doubling our revenues. In this day and age, business decisions have to be made and this was one we needed to make."

I'm not entirely a fan of this but Cunningham is right in that it's a good financial decision if they made it worth it. The thing that really bugs me is it's on a Thursday night. If our fans travel to this one, I'll be somewhat surprised. It's definitely not a home game despite the intention. Nebraska's fans will be there. I don't care for this one bit even with the financial incentive. This sucks. A Saturday game in Indy would have seen many UC fans there. Now only a few diehards will make the trip along with the UC fans that live close. It's a good thing my hotel in Indy offered free cancelation.Red and Black are more of an Attitude than merely a color combination.

I am totally P.O.. We should not have to subject our team to playing second fiddle to a bottom rung Big 10 school that really hasn't been relevant in a long time. With the new money we will be getting, we shouldn't have to change like this.Comment

You answered your own question. We will be getting that money but don't have it yet. Therefore you take the deal as a business decision and only for that reason. Once we get a full share of conference payouts, this all settles down and and we don't need to do this anymore. Also you have revenue sharing coming down the pike. We need cash to compete until the the full share gets us on a level playing field with other Big XII schools. Houston and UCF are going to and have had similar issues.Brent Wyrick

Don't under estimate Nebraska. They are improving every year, and I look for this as a tough battle, which may not end favorably for us.

OK, they raised 2.19B on that campaign mostly with <$1000 donations over 5 years but I have no idea what the breakdown was on how much of that went to Athletics. Some of it definitely did but can't find a breakdown. Sounds like an open records request for the state.
I do get your point though. Most of this probably went to academia and unless the Athletics money was earmarked by the donor, my bet is a lot of what they got went to retire debt on Nippert and 5/3.Brent Wyrick
