Here is some rambling about the B1G needing to take Kansas and Colorado instead of ND just to keep up with the SEC. Big Ten Expansion. NOW What Does It Do? 22 Thoughts For 2022, No. 14 (yahoo.com)

Something interesting I saw in the Big Ten Expansion article was the rumor of Ohio State being mentioned for the SEC. It's not the first time I saw that mentioned. I think someone posted the same rumor with Michigan also mentioned. An alternate history question I have is would you prefer to be joining a Texas and Oklahoma-less Big 12 as we currently are, or a Ohio State and Michigan-less Big Ten?

I do not believe that tosu and UM will leave the B1G unless the whole system gets blown up and there becomes one or two mega conferences. However, for the sake of conversation, if tosu and UM leave the B1G, who would the B1G go after to fill their shoes? All schools are tied into their GOR. The B1G may go after Clemson, FSU, and the U but they are tied up until the mid 2030s (those same schools have also been linked to the SEC). If you look at the finances, the SEC and B1G will be almost double of the other three power 5 conferences at the end of this decade. Florida also matches well with the B1G in terms of research as does Kansas.

Everyone has an opinion of who should be the next Big12 Commissioner. I should weigh in on this and say TV contract negotiator first. The NCAA stuff can be learned or bring in people around the commissioner to carry that load.

My guess is that Oliver Luck will not be the next Commissioner just because a bunch of outsiders say that he should be. Guerin Emig: Pros and cons of Big 12 commissioner candidate Oliver Luck | OSU Sports Extra | tulsaworld.com

Main target of the Commisioner search seems to be Kirk Schulz. Schulz is the current President at Washington St.

Ross Dellenger says on Twitter that negotiations re: UC/Houston/UCF joining the Big 12 for 2023-24 are expected to be finalized in the next week. Ross added that the main topics during next week's Big 12 meetings will be whether to have divisions or not (for a 14-team league while UT and OU are still around) and whether to play 8 or 9 league games.Last edited by GoBearcats31; 04-27-2022, 01:55 PM.
