Eventually, this is probably going to reset the rookie contract market in the NFL and owners will be pissed about it.
This may affect basketball more than football. However, either way, it is going to hurt high school players.

Case in point QB Max Johnson at A&M declared for the portal, which isn't open yet, and 24 hours later committed to UNC. What's the point of the portal if stuff like this is going to happen?

I was wondering what kind of report the players and schools have to do about the reporting of money and NIL deals? I did suspect that there is a whole lot of tampering with active players by others outside of the team.

So according to this newletter ($) and a quoted USA Today article therein, Congress had an agreement on an NIL bill done until "several legislators" tried to kick the HBCUs out of D1 football. And that's where the deal fell apart.

Several internet folks have pointed that they’re directing the schools to ignore the various state NIL laws and only listen to them. Pretty blatantly bad legal advice there by whoever is representing the NCAA.

A couple of things out there from Chris Vannini and also On3 stating that the IRS is telling NIL collectives that they are not tax exempt. I’ll get links up later for those donating to Cincy Reigns. It looks this is guidance so far and not a final decision.

Nick Saban had some opinions on NIL money today. Basically, he sees greater inequality based on NIL spending. “You think there’s disparity in college football right now? There’s going to be a lot more in the future.” https://sports.yahoo.com/nick-saban-...211928272.html
