The Bearcats pounded N IL today, 14-1, with the Mercy Rule employed after 6 innings. The Cats took 3 of 4 in the series with the Huskies and are now 7-5.

Akron (3-6 and playing today at Duke) visit on Wednesday at 4:00 before the Bearcats travel to Manhattan, KS, for their B12 opening series. The Wildcats are 6-3, with a home game ongoing with UMass-Lowell.

The Bearcats pounded Akron this evening, 19-8, getting UC to 8-5 on the early season, with KSU upcoming on the road.

First Big 12 win

In the rubber game today @ KSU, UC held an 11-7 lead in the 8th. The Wildcats scored 3 in the bottom of the 8th and sent it to extra innings in the 9th. In the top of the 12th, the Cats scored twice, but KSU walked it off with 3. Final: 14-13.

Western Illinois will come to town for a pair of games this Tuesday and Wednesday.

After a wild start (10-10 after 4 innings), the game settled down. Tied 11-11, the Leathernecks scored in the top of the 9th to go up, 12-11. UC loaded the bases with 0 outs. P4, K, F9. The Cats fell to 9-8. These two teams will play again tomorrow.

The Bearcats jumped on W Illinois in the 1st inning for 4 runs and coasted to an 8-3 victory over the Leathernecks. The Cats' record grew to 10-8.

The Jayhawks visit Friday for a 3-game series, UC's second B12 set of the season.
