The Bearcats clobbered TCU today, 13-2, in seven innings on a walk-off HR by Kerrington Cross. That closed out a sweep. UC will play the Eggmen at Prasco Park on Tuesday before traveling to Stillwater for a three-game series.

The Cats are now 19-13 (7-5 in B12 action).

I said this to Tim Adams once. Kerrington Cross is really good but he sounds like he was named after a London Underground station.

Is it true that the Bearcats are only 1.5 games out of the lead in the Big 12?

I'm not sure how many of these guys were on the roster last year but there's a whole mess of CMU transfers that came down with Bischel. I didn't realize there were that many.

The University of Cincinnati baseball team faced crosstown rival Xavier on Tuesday night at Prasco Park in Mason for the Joe Nuxhall Classic and came away with a 5-2 victory.

Cincinnati (20-13) grabbed the lead in the first inning and didn't look back, manufacturing runs throughout the game while keeping the Musketeers (15-17) off the scoreboard until the eighth inning. The Bearcats held on over the final two innings to claim the win and even the season series with their rival.
                ...
Following Tuesday's game, Cincinnati will visit Oklahoma State for a three-game conference series this weekend.

UC (20-13, 7-5 Big 12) and OSU (21-11, 7-5 Big 12) are two of four teams locked in a tie for third place in the Big 12 standings and sit one game back of West Virginia (19-12, 8-4 Big 12) and Oklahoma (17-14, 8-4 Big 12) for first place. Kansas State (20-10, 7-5 Big 12) and Texas (19-13, 7-5 Big 12) are also locked in a tie for third.

The Cats and Cowboys went to extra innings, tied at 4. Unfortunately, OK State walked off via a grand slam in the 10th. The series will continue tomorrow night at 7:00.

                  UC are now 20-14 (7-6 B12).

The Bearcats led the Eggmen, 4-2, heading to the 7th, but lost on two homers, 6-4. The Cats are now 20-17 and head to Orlando to face a very good Knights squad.

The Bearcats erased a 4-1 deficit to Houston this afternoon, scoring twice in the 6th, with single runs in the 7th & 8th to nip the Cougars, 5-4. UC will go for a home sweep Sunday at noon, after a Friday 6-4 victory plus today's win.

The Cats now are 23-17 (9-8 in the B12).
