I think he was recruited by the new staff when he went portaling two years ago - granted they had many more roster spots to fill.

Gotta be honest , I don't remember us going after this guy at all. I'm getting old and my memory sucks at times but I think I would remember that name as it's kind of unique.

It's entirely possible that UC didn't recruit him, but rather he was just a guy whose name went into the 2021 portal thread two years ago. UC was in desperate need of players when the last coaching change was made and I remember the name from that cycle. (shrugs)

      • Logan Duncomb, a 6'10 sophomore center at IU, has entered the portal. The former 4-star recruit hails from Moeller HS.

He committed to Archie Miller, stuck with his commitment through the coaching change, and ultimately played two seasons under Mike Woodson. He did not play much and he missed a lot of time with various injuries and health issues.

I don't think he's proven to be a high major player, but throwing his name on here because he is local and was probably recruited by JB ... that being said, I could see him landing at XU but a lower level may be better.

        • JB offered. He took an official to Eggs before signing up there.

          • DJ Horne (one year of eligibility left) from Arizona State -- 6'1 senior guard who averaged 12.5 / 3.4 / 2.4. Posting just because he is from North Carolina. He started at Illinois State.

The 4th year player at Buffalo, who transferred out of UC ahead of Zach Harvey joining the squad, averaged 11.1 and 7.3 this past year. I believe UB fired its coach.

However, your details on Madsen are completely inaccurate. He averages over 21 minutes per game this year at BC, and closer to 30mpg until mid season. Last year was only 11, and 17 the year before (and that was only bc of necessity). Let’s be honest, he was never recruited as center piece, just more of a shooting specialist to come alongside Gabe. When he had his chances, he just never delivered at BC or UC.

Let’s just try to be accurate when we state things.

You are going strictly by numbers. Okay, let's look at ALL of the numbers. Madsen played 21 minutes a game, but he only scored 5.8 points a game. That was the 8th best on the team. He had 2.6 rebounds a game, which was 9th best on the team. Madsen only shot .7 foul shots a game (24 foul shots in 33 games). That is less than one a game. He shot 34.9% on the season and 30.3% from the 3 point line. Given these numbers, you tell me, what kind of role did Madsen have on this team? Additionally, I saw Boston College play about 3 or 4 times this year. Madsen rarely got the ball. To be truthful, I had to really look for Madsen to see when he was in the game. Seldom did the other players look to him to pass the ball.

                  • 6’11, 300 lbs. Not good stats…

Jake Weingarten: Cincinnati is the latest school to express interest in Florida transfer Jason Jitoboh, a source told @Stockrisers. Appeared in over 50 games for the Gators over the last two season. 6’11 center, also drawing interest from Seton Hall, Loyola Chicago, TSU, Jacksonville, others.

I don't know if he's a Big 12 caliber player, but I do note the connection to Drew Adams, who took a position on the UC staff via Bradley. Adams recruited Mast to Bradley. https://www.pjstar.com/story/sports/...s/69960415007/
Via @jondog237 from the Bradley student newspaper:

Rienk Mast is being courted by Cincinnati, where former BU assistant coach Drew Adams is at now.

Adams was an instrumental piece in bringing Mast to Bradley.

Your previous quote: “…Madson play less time than they did at UC….That is perhaps why both Saunders and Madson are bench players at their new schools.”

Madsen did not play less time at BC. 21 minutes per game is not a bench player.

Isn’t one forecasting results with any player?

The truth is that a good player can come from any one of the groups in your list. Category 3 is more than just a roster spot if you find the right piece:
                            - Boum (Xavier)
                            - Kunkel (Xavier)
                            - Rice (Texas)
                            - Kolek (Marquette)
                            - Sears (Alabama)
                            - Scheierman (Creighton)

                              also from @jondog237

1st team all-MVC this year, averaged about 14 and 8, and a big that can stretch the floor who’s really motivated. @EvanMiya rated him as the best player in the portal as of earlier this week. So yeah, he’s good.

And some video from earlier this month. 30 points.

”George Mason Transfer big man Josh Oduro has heard from Florida, Miami, Virginia, Providence, Syracuse, Notre Dame and Cincinnati, per source”

Averaged 15.6 ppg and 7.9 rpg at Mason last season.
