The topic came up again on the end of last night's Bearcat Journal podcast. Chad and his co-host mostly discussed media ethics (and how it related to this story), but in the final minute or so, Chad responded to someone in the live chat asking if UC is providing help to Jizzle to which Chad said UC is doing everything they can but insinuated that Jizzle was being resistant.

Appears that UC added a 21-year old from Spain https://vb.bearcatnews.com/forum/bas...spain-f-commit

There seems to be a new trend of these D1 schools adding random European kids. Indiana just added one in the past week and another earlier this offseason -- neither of which have made it to campus yet. Not sure what roles these Euro kids will have or if they are more redshirt candidates/development pieces.

my point to a former Bearcat--- If the greatest was happy being a bearcat and winning plus making all better, than a frosh who had done nothing should wait6 and do it the right way -- That is win. We did see hiscareer after the Cats.Didn't CWM make some promises to come back when CWM went to the Saunders' home when CWM took over. Promises promises --- that is the tune today. The point to Mikey is that things really don't always come easy you have to work and even then (the case with Oscar) some things never comes. One might think of the name "Smoothie King" as to get free smoothies and to be their face, you need to be the king.on the court.

Was there a new agreement with our transfer Big or does his coach gets the deal. What a mess. I had a convo with Mikey Saunders a few years back when he was wanting all the NIL stuff (when it was first starting). I told him to win championships and things would happen. I also told him that the greatest bb player of all time never got anything until he was in the pros for several years and then for a Basketball equipment company. That man played hard and won games. He also made every player on the court regardless of team better. I still love the Cats and will root for them on the court, but I am glad for a forum in which to vent.

Tillery is a true point and even though he's a freshman, he might be the true distributor we've been lacking for a while. I like Jizzle just fine but if the team is better with Tillery at the point, and Jizzle off the ball, play him.

Honestly if Tillery (or anyone) can throw good entries to Thiam on the block , we're in good shape.
My friend’s father is one of six high school coaches to have won over 600 games in his career. He always said the true value of a player is the ability to make your teammates better. IMO, JJ may be a great individual player, he does not make the team better. None of us know what is happening, but the longer this lingers, more harm is caused. I would cut ties now but that CWM’s call.

Jeff Ruby posted a pic with the team from tonight and seems like most everyone is there but doesn’t look like JJ among them

Yeah, I meant Tillery, but my brain inserted the name of the highly rated guard we didn't get a couple years back. Hopefully they end up somewhere close to comparable on the basketball court.

Lots of good things have been said about Tillery, though I always take that with a grain of salt in the off-season, there have been plenty of guys talked up in the off-season who never get on the court when the minutes actually matter. If Jizzle is upset about potential minutes though, that lends some credence to the idea that Tillery may be ready to take some.

On the other hand, it probably means Jizzle is being beat out in practice, which isn't exactly the worst sign for our team. Day Day and Kriisa are both better shooters/passers and Day Day definitely defends better as well. I'd guess Sincere is more of the minutes at the 2 than anticipated and perhaps Collier is looking more ready than expected. Jizzle's best skill is his ability to generate his own shot off the dribble, but the long jumpers he creates aren't a good shot.

CWM must have the authority and final say on who earnsplaying time and which lineup combinations will lead to success, including what role each player will play. Jizzle isn't perfect, but he has been the better player (or at least a top option) on offense each of the last two years while conintuously improving on defense. For a rising 3rd year player and starter, it is incumbant on Jizzle to show team leadership in practice/offseason workouts to show the young newcomers the work effort needed to earn playing time. He also needs to show the maturity to accept that his effort may need to increase so that he can continue to earn playing time. If anything else is going on, then it doesn't benefit the team or the growth/development of all players.
Two years ago Simas Lukosius was by far the better player. The ball at the end of the game was in his hands and he often made shots or passed for the winning basket. Jizzle had the opportunity but due to his errant passing (wretched passing), ball hogging mentality and freezing on the last shot, he blew it. Last year the Cats didn't have a good offensive player. That is what Coach Wes is taking into consideration for this year's team. Plus a new assistant coach brought his guy in to be the focus.

I have no inside information nor do I have specifics concerning any favoritism being shown to any specific player, all I go on is what I see on the court. Last season the team went in some kind of funk that lasted several games that the team never did get quite out of throughout the season. It wasn't until JJ started to find his rhythm so to speak that the team started to be even a facsimile of a basketball team. But even then he wasn't playing team ball. I think the aura or stigma associated with JJ's father's has tainted CWM's ability to field a competitive team. As has been noted by many on this forum this is supposed to be Millers most competitive team and I'm just waiting to see how this season plays out. But it don't look like it's beginning without a hitch.
