We reached out to Lathan Summerville, a 6'10 freshman from Rutgers. But Tennessee, Texas A&M, Michigan, Ohio St, Oklahoma St, USC, Washington, and Butler have also reached out. And Summerville isn't even a good rebounder (7% OReb rate) or shot blocker (under 3%). But he does make 86% at the line. Posted a 0.2 BPM. Competition for bigs is fierce.
Miller is not really serious about developing an inside game. To win, a team needs somebody that can provide a consistent paint presence, especially on defense and for rebounding. Not unless Miller is going to use McKinley at the 5 or develop Page over the summer, I do not see any answers for UC at the 5-spot. Who is going to provide scoring in the paint without driving the ball? Also, 12 of the 14 guys on the spreadsheet are either guards or small forwards. Only one guy over 6'9".

Secondly, only two guys on the spreadsheet have a BPM above 2. Wow! This is really disappointing. Miller is not serious about winning.

      • It's still early and this is just a list of public contacts. I suspect it is mostly lower profile guys who have agents that are trying to inflate their value by leaking high major contacts. Most of the action for the best transfers is probably happening behind closed doors. I believe several of our best transfers materialized suddenly, like Mitchell last year and Aziz the year before.

        • Yesterday's additions to the tracker:

          Malik Moore, Montana
A 6'5 junior guard who is a shooter. He's made 40% from three in his career on 304 attempts, and made 56% effective field goals this year. Poor defender and rebounder though with just a 0.7 BPM. His lone P5 action was against Wisconsin in the NCAA tournament, where he put up negative 1.3 net points, scoring 7 points on 3 of 7 shooting with 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 turnovers in 25 minutes.

          Jason Asemota, Baylor
A 6'8 200 freshman forward and former top 75 recruit. Didn't see much action, posting a negative 0.6 BPM in under 4 mpg. Played 17 minutes of scoreless basketball in two games against the Bearcats.

          • Also a couple new additions to my bigs wishlist this morning:
            Deonte Jones, CSU Northridge
            Michael Nwoko, Mississippi St

Jones is only 6'6 but a 10% OReb rate and a great passer and defender.
Nwoko is one of the best rebounders in the portal as a sophomore.

I have no inside information but I wouldn't be surprised if he showed up in Austin. Prior to the XU-MI game, I heard an analyst describing the Muskies' players as having an alphabet missing the letter D, because they didn't play any. I don't know Conwell's analytics, though.

I'd say that's accurate for Conwell. 4.4 offensive BPM but only 1.1 on the defensive end - second worst on the team after Hugley.

Started almost every game for OSU two seasons ago but would want him as depth piece.

                      • We've contacted Sencire Harris, a 6'4 sophomore from West Virginia. Harris is a terrible shooter, making only 41% effective field goals. But he's an elite defender with a 5.4 defensive BPM, which is 11th best in the country. His overall BPM is just 2.7 though since he's so bad offensively.

                        • On the subject of paint presence. How many of you saw the Alabama scoring fest against defenseless BYU last night? Throw it up from three enough times and you'll make a bunch. no paint required. NCAA record 25 threes and 10 from Mark Sears. Ludicrous.

                          • UCF guard Keyshawn Hall is entering the transfer portal, he told @On3sports.

The 6-7 junior averaged 18.6 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game.

Will be joining his brother who redshirted as a true freshman this past season.

Good fit for Evan. Wish him a great Senior season.

He played decent minutes for Rutgers as a freshman, 7.6/4.2, 21 mpg in Big 10 games. Listed as 6’10, 275, the kind of bulk hard to push around.
