I hope Reed, Thomas and James stick around.
Maybe because the Crown pays out NIL, so some are waiting until after it’s over to declare?

    • Regarding outgoing portal players... In a weird way i want to start seeing that happen and don't see it as a "good thing" at this point about CWM "building good relationships".... This roster is all wrong for competing in the B12 and making the tourney... OBVIOUSLY.... While I love CWM the man... his current approach HAS NOT WORKED is not working now... He has hinted at not really being able to "coach players hard" these days.... Well... he has one more year to figure out needed changes... The more this roster looks the same.... the less likely his future looks bright here

      • I realize I’m the one who stated that Dan S would be gone after last year, so take what I say with a grain of salt but I only post what comes out of the players mouths themselves. Obviously minds can change for a variety of reasons (NIL money) but again I only share what I’ve personally have been told.

So I’ll share, hopefully doesn’t get back to the player but I’m sure I’m not the only one they’ve said something to lol.

Jizzle, Dillon, Dan S all intending to enter portal. It’s a tough job for a coach these days. Dan said he loves Coach, yet is exploring options in the portal (highest bidder). NIL has ruined CBB IMO.

        • All three poor 3-PT shooters, bad FT shooters, and only Dillton above 43% 2-pt shooter.... I'm not saying they all stink and I want them gone but understand.... This team was far from good enough with the current guys.... So... to fix that its gonna be a big ugly

Mitchell had a 6.8 BPM this year, which would put him at #8 in the current portal. Skillings had a 5.5 BPM, which is #13. Jizzle isn't as high, but clearly has talent. All of them will be able to find money if they want it. Hopefully we have at least a modest war chest.

Jizzle made 48% from two. Skillings made 50%. Mitchell made 67%.

              • My bad on the 2pt.. I grabbled the overall % (not JUST the 2pt).. I think my overall point remains however that... for whatever reasons... this team was not good enough. Does it mean that these three were the main reasons why ? No.. but at the same time we know the more the roster looks the same, the less likely we are to see much different result... This is a one-year shot for CWM... if he is gone after next year.. so is the roster so....

                  Oscar Cluff, South Dakota St
                  Alvaro Folgueiras, Robert Morris
                  Quincy Ballard, Wichita St
                  Owen Freeman, Iowa
                  Dishon Jackson, Iowa St
                  Kimani Hamilton, High Point
                  Amani Hansberry, West Virginia
                  Luke Bamgboye, VCU
Here is a breakdown of the big men in the portal so far. Who do you all like? I like Oscar Cluff, Quincy Ballard and maybe Owen Freeman at the 5-spot. I really like Folgueiras at the 4-spot (stretch 4). I have seen him play (Robert Morris). He can score from all over the court. I also like Freeman as a power 4. I like everyone else in back-up roles, except for Bamgbove. Too thin. Appears to be mostly a defender. Has the most blocked shots per game than anyone else. UC cannot really use him. As was mentioned previously, these guys are not going to last long. Miller should shake-a-leg and get to work recruiting. Note: I did not add Dishon Jackson because we already know him.

                  Oscar Cluff (6'11" 260): 17.6 pts/g, 12.3 reb/g, 64%, .778 FT, 2.2 TO, .8 BS.

                  Alvaro Folgueiras (6'9" 215): 14.9 pts/g, 9.1 reb/g, 55%, .413% (3), .784 FT, 2.2 TO, 1.7 BS.

                  Quincy Ballard (6'11" 251): 10 pts/g, 9.2 reb/g, 75%, .557 FT, .5 TO, 1.9 BS.

                  Owen Freeman (6'10" 230): 16.7 pts/g, 6.7 reb/g, 64%, .600 FT, 1.79 TO, 1.8 BS.

                  Kimani Hamilton (6'8" 230): 13.1 pts/g, 4.6 reb/g, 52%, 32% (3), .723FT, 1.8 TO, .4 BS.

                  Amani Hansberry (6'8" 240): 9.8 pts/g, 6.5 reb/g, 43%, 29.2% (3), .750 FT, 1.4 TO, .4 BS.

                  Luke Bamgboye (6'10" 200): 3.8 pts/g, 3.3 reb/g, 59.8%, .486 FT, .71 TO, 2.1 BS.

                  Khamari McGriff (6'9" 210): 11.5 pts/g, 4 reb/g, 65%, .63 FT, 1 TO, .4 BS.

I would take any of them without hesitation.

I should clarify that there are many other bigs in the portal. This list is limited to great rebounders who are good enough to start or at least be main rotation players. There are other bigs who are good but not great rebounders, or great rebounders who aren't as good overall.

                    • Sedz, of the bigs in the portal as of today what are Aziz' numbers compared to them.

Aziz had a 4.5 BPM this year with a 9.9 OReb rate. So my list is looking to replace his production, and some of them can also provide offense.

9% offensive rebounding is top 25 in the conference, and ideally we should have 2 players hitting that number. Mitchell was really close at 8.7%.

Some big shoes to fill there after Kalkbrenner.
