It just is going to evolve to be like baseball. There is A, AA, AAA, Majors. You come out of HS and demand dictates where you go initially. Then you play your way up. Steven Smith pointed it out...it will ruin March Madness since Cinderella will likely not have a Larry Bird or Steph Curry or Jah Morant... they won't be able to turn down the money

Jayden Quaintance is headed for the portal at ASU. Big time opportunity to grab him since we were as finalist in his original recruitment and we need a big man. There's also the possibility that he declares for the draft though.Brent Wyrick

Under NBA rules, Quaintance is ineligible for the draft. He won't turn 19 until the 2025-26 season.Originally posted by Lobot View PostJayden Quaintance is headed for the portal at ASU. While UC tried hard to recruit him over a two-year period, even having him on campus twice, he chose KY, then bolted for a sizable payout from ASU after Calipari went to AR. Even with his knee surgery, Quaintance is not going to come cheap. I have my doubts that the staff have enough in the coffers to make that happen. I wish they did, but it seems unlikely,

Seems like maybe something here?Originally posted by sedz View PostWe've contacted Sencire Harris, a 6'4 sophomore from West Virginia. Harris is a terrible shooter, making only 41% effective field goals. But he's an elite defender with a 5.4 defensive BPM, which is 11th best in the country. His overall BPM is just 2.7 though since he's so bad offensively.
Former top 100 recruit = hasn’t lived up to the ranking.
NE Ohio native has played a year each at Illinois and WVU.
A backcourt of James, Thomas, Harris, Tillery would be interesting.

Big man Eddie Lampkin in the portal. Been at three schools over five seasons but looks like he only played 10 games his first year so maybe there’s eligibility? We discussed this a few days ago as to someone who maybe could try to double dip with a COVID bonus year and medical redshirt https://x.com/247hshoops/status/1908...A2NHZ_hNyS2mFg
Believe UC has gone after him multiple times before

He has already played 137 NCAA games, I wouldn’t count on the redshirt.Originally posted by GoBearcats31 View PostBig man Eddie Lampkin in the portal. He's an elite three point shooter (of course), making 42% of 298 attempts. So he's not just high volume, but efficient. That's basically all he does on offense though. He only took 82 twos all season and he doesn't create for others. Then there's his defense. At 5'10 he had a negative 2.5 defensive BPM and an OReb rate under 1%. That drops his overall BPM to just 0.5.Originally posted by swilsonsp4 View PostSedz, what can you dig up on Honor Huff from Chattanooga, who just hit the portal. #1 nationally in 3-point goals made this season.
Huff is the epitome of a specialist. He can change the game with his shooting. But you better be able to hide him on defense and have other guards who can create offense and rebound.

Committed to USC.Originally posted by sedz View PostWe're one of many schools to contact Amarion Dickerson, a 6'7 185 junior forward from Robert Morris. Dickerson put up a 4.7 BPM this year. He's a good interior finisher, rebounder, and shot blocker as an undersized 4. He scored 25 points with 9 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 blocks against Alabama in the first round. I don't care if he gets pushed around if he can produce those numbers.

Mason posted a 3.2 BPM this year, tied for second on the team. He was a touch higher at 3.5 in BigTen play. He made 40% from deep on 127 attempts and takes care of the ball. Not a good rebounder or defender. I'd view him as a Simas replacement, perhaps with some additional upside since he was a high usage guy at Rice as a sophomore.Originally posted by Lobot View PostG Mekhi Mason is the portal from UW. NEWS:
Kentucky transfer guard Kerr Kriisa has committed to UC.
The 6-3 senior from Estonia only played in nine games for the Wildcats this season. Played three years for Arizona and one season with West Virginia.Last edited by GoBearcats31; 04-06-2025, 05:09 PM.
