      Long answer.
      • The NCAA lost in the trial court - athletes eligible.
      • The NCAA appealed that decision and also moved for a stay during appeal, which the court granted - athletes not eligible.
      • The athletes sought a reconsideration of the stay, which the court denied - athletes ineligible.
Now, the appeal rests in the court of appeals. No oral argument set, to my knowledge. It will likely take the court until after the season ends to issue its decision.

Summary - athletes remain ineligible until the appeals court issues a decision in their favor and against the NCAA. In my experience, this will be months from now.

Don't know anything about new evidence.

Updated with Gov. DeWine's executive order issued this week:
        • EO 2026-04D authorizes Ohio universities to disregard NCAA eligibility rules for class of 2022 athletes
        • The Ohio Supreme Court stayed the appellate court decision reversing the trial court's decision - athletes eligible again
        • OSC asked the parties to brief the effect of the EO by October 19 at 5 pm
The OSC will rule on the impact of the EO on the NCAA rule on eligibility for 2022 athletes. This means MJ Collins is now eligible until the OSC rules otherwise.

Has anyone kept an eye on Baba Miller? He had a pretty good rookie preseason with the LA Clippers. He averaged about 20 minutes a game (over a 3-game preseason) and also averaged 11 points, 5 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1 steal, and less than 1 block. I saw him play against Denver last night (10/14/26). He did not handle the ball as much as I thought he would. He went for 15 and 5 and had 2 assists and 1 block in about 20 minutes off the bench.

He looks like he will be a productive pro. I wonder if the Clippers will keep him and put him in the rotation or if they will let him develop a little more in the G-league. He looked good last night. No bad shots.

I posted this at bearcatjournal.com. It's a compilation (by Claude Opus 5.5) of what has occurred in the "Borovicanin" case and what must happen before whatever "finality" turns out to be:

Ohio law ends in Ohio. So they’ll only be eligible for home games? If I’m another Big 12 team without such a law, I’d refuse to come to Ohio to play UC. This is such a damn mess, I’m losing interest in the upcoming season. I never thought that would happen in a million years. For the game to be fair, everybody must play by the same rules. Instead we have agents, lawyers, politicians, TV networks, and courts getting involved so nobody knows what the rules really are. I don’t trust any real solution out of DC either, where Big 10 and SEC are throwing heavy lobbying money to bend legislation in their favor. Are players even students anymore? To me college athletics is like a beloved relative who has died, nothing left but memories. The game has been ruined.

He was a scientist. He was big on quantum theory winning the Nobel. He also was the man for wave mechanics He came up with what is called the " Schrodinger Cat". That was basically a paradox with his use of science. A cat was in a box but due to subatomic particles may be seen as both alive and dead (Poor explanation). The pun using bearcat to show both eligible and ineligible of Collins was pretty good. Schrödinger was a wild one as he devised that in a conversation (argument) with Einstein, On the even wilder side he was deep into philosophy especially Arthur Schopenhauer. He was kicked out of Oxford for living with his wife and mistress, He had many affairs and got in legal trouble for a dalliance or many with underage females. I always found this a paradox as Schopenhauerr was big on asceticism.

It is early so my thinking is not the best. He was a biggie in the scientific world.

Then you are breaching your contract with the BigXII and its members. I don't know the implications of refusing to play - likely forfeiting the game? I agree it is a mess but I also believe other governors will issue similar orders to bridge the gap until Congress acts, effectively making the whole mess moot. .

The Apple original series 'Dark Matter' is based off of Schrodinger's cat in the box and quantum superposition theories. Very interesting show.

Glad Collins is eligible, but at this point, I don't even know who is on the roster anymore. I know we probably can't go back to the era when players stayed and played for 4 years, but there has to be some sort of compromise so that we don't end up with free agents every season.

the "4 year Letterman" era is as dead as that cat of Schrodinger!
