Based on that, they just need to take the biggest paycheck from the media compnaies and be done with it. They aren't going to get ratings in that conference reagrdless of where they put their games, so maximize the return.

True for the short-term but for the long-term it will kill the conference because if the TV contracts realize that there are no eyes on their platform, they will not reinvest. Utah and Washington (maybe Oregon) are about the only value in the PAC at this time. The media tried hard to build up the PAC this year but did not succeed. It is ironic that Utah was an expansion team. Today, nobody cares about the research or academic ratings of a college. So, the Stanford's of the world will be irrelevant in the sports world.

It must be a slow news cycle because they are talking Big 10 expansion again. At the end of this article, there is a link for the 15 schools to watch. ESPN’s Paul Finebaum expects Big Ten to continue expansion – see who he thinks will join the league (yahoo.com)

PAC TV deal sometime mid-January to mid-February. Expansion in March or April. This does not paint roses for the PAC. Pac-12 Hotline mailbag: As 2023 looms, conference faces existential crisis (tucson.com)

Here's something that could throw a wrench in to George Kliavkoff's works. Amazon is developing a sports-only app for their apparent sole means of streaming live sports content. There would be an additional charge and Amazon Prime would no longer be involved.

If I'm at OR, WA and other P12 schools, I'd be worried.

This is past tense. Yormark shot down Kliavkoff's suggestion this past summer.

Even though this says that the article is a couple of days old, the data is months old. What I find interesting is the list of the group of 5 conferences and their TV payouts. If you are a fan or member of the big10 or SEC, you have no idea of the disparity in college football. We all knew this already, but it is now making its way into news. • No links, but I've read a few reports that Kevin Warren will not be missed by most Big 10 college presidents, at least on topic of expansion. Since gaining UckLa and USC, Kevin made some public comments about not being done yet that didn't sit well with Big 10 preseidents. At this point the presidents want no more expansion unless it adds value (which may mean a couple of ACC schools only like North Carolina, Virginia, Fla State, or Miami). According to these rumors, the presidents only took UckLa to secure USC and find UckLa to have more value than Oregon or Washington so it is unlikely these schools will ever get a coveted Big 10 invite. Once the final tv deal numbers are available, some of those top Pac10 schools may choose exposure in Big 12 over streaming on Amazon Prime. Apparently Kevin was in favor of possibly adding Oregon, Washington, Cal, and Stanford, but the presidents we pretty dead set against it. Kevin's move to Chicago Bears along with some preliminary Amazon Prime numbers may push teams to make a move in July 2024, which could further give Yormark leverage and flexibility to let Texass and OU move to SEC a year early.

If you think expansion has been a bumpy ride so far, I don't think we are in for smooth sailing in the next several months. I fully anticipate fate of Pac10 will be known before our Bearcats play their first Big 12 conference games in any sports.

P.S. May this finally put a nail in the coffin of any Four Corner's Schools coming to the Big 12. Of those four, only Utah is slightly appealing and has similar value.

                        • ^^^ Red n Black, I agree with you. The PAC although may be a fine institutional conference, does not have football TV value. The west coast does not watch college football and the rest of the country just does not care. • Probably nothing new for most on here. However, this talks about the trials and tribble-ations the Pac-12 Network is experiencing due to cord cutting and at minimum the 2 schools from the largest market leaving. I think the following quote summarizes most of what you need to know from the article,
Rumors are starting to spread that the Pac-12 may be looking to sell off the network rights to some other company to run, similar to how the SEC Network is run by ESPN and the Big Ten Network is run by Fox.
