DIck "Hoops" Weiss, who is a hall of fame reporter is currently reporting he's getting credible stuff on FSU and Clemson considering the Big XII. That would be completely wild as I think everyone has them pegged to the SEC. Makes me wonder if Dick has gotten misinformation here and didn't catch it. He's about 80 at this point.

It wouldn't suprise me if it's real simply becuase The BIg XII TV contract is better than the ACC's but I suspect this might be a bait report from the FSU folks trying to get someone's attention.

Not only will it be the PAC two but it will only include one sport. The PAC 2 is to become really strange.

If I had a $1 for every piece of BS that "Dude" wrote about or tweeted, I'd be rich. Everything out of his mouth is crap. He does it on purpose for engagement.

Sounds like a long shot but it also makes a lot of sense to stay relevant and compete with B1G and SEC...

The courts have declined to hear this case and as a result, the PAC 2 have basically taken control of the conference board. This ensures that the other schools leaving the conference don't run off with all the money.

I think that was done mostly because the whole conference office moved to Las Colinas (Irving) and they got a sweetheart deal with Dickies Arena. It was brand new and available. I think the tournament would have done much better down here if it was in Dallas and not Ft. Worth. Also, COVID really killed the attendance for that whole run at Dickies. The optimal site down here would have been American Airlines Center but it's booked by the Big XII women's tournament that week.

In retrospect, I don't think the AAC MBB tourney was ever held in anything remotely considered a central site. Huge mistake. I always thought we should have booked something in Nashville for the tournament.

He had a tough job trying to keep a conference together knowing that there were a handful of teams with 1 foot out the door.

The MWC and PAC 2 have signed a scheduling contract.

I think they gist of this is that the PAC 2 need to legally carry the PAC name and membership to get paid their distributions from the conference. If they just straight up jump conferences, they lose the payouts.
