Was there really a coaching search or a specific request for a coach?

      • Was there a legitimate chance of Kelly coming here? Would he have even interviewed for the job if Cunningham wasn't stiffarmed into the Sat hire or is it that Kelly was between jobs and would have submitted a feeler if the hire was already made.

        • Yes, there was a coaching search. Justin Williams confirmed the contact between Kelly's people and UC last year in one of his articles. It never reached the interview stage. So no, Kelly wasn't coming here at any point.

UCLA Bruins is set to hire DeShaun Foster as the school's next head coach, sources told ESPN.

The team is being notified of the decision in a team meeting on Monday morning, the sources said. Foster had taken a job as the Las Vegas Raiders' running backs coach in recent weeks.

Foster is in the UCLA Hall of Fame as a player, is a longtime assistant coach and has played seven seasons in the NFL. He emerged among a pool of 11 candidates who UCLA interviewed, many of whom were a sitting head coach.

There's an escape hatch move going on there, I would bet. I wonder what's up.

Besides Wes wouldn't move laterally from the best conference in college bball to the 3rd or 4th even.

I think if tOSU came with a 5 million offer and now the largest NIL, CWM would listen.

                              Hard to turn that down.

                              • I live in the Columbus media market. There has been absolutely no mention of CWM as a candidate to replace Holtmann. They will want a more known entity, no offense to CWM.
