    I agree with this stance

Head Coach Brian Kelly have finalized the deal for contract extension . . .you can expect an announcement soon and it is almost finalized.

The first line is the new info. For some reason they included a previous post after said new info.

          Ditto.

I think Kelly is in their third tier of candidates. First tier includes only two guys, stoops and meyer. Second tier includes Harbaugh, Patterson (TCU), maybe Leach, maybe Edsell, coaches (names escaping me) from Iowa and Northwestern.

If ND gets rejected by all of the above, or if something comes up during vetting/interviewing that eliminates one of these folks, then ND will luck into Kelly, who will take the job in a heartbeat.

I think Kelly was in the first (at worst second) tier initially, but after the vetting process, he has dropped to a last resort candidate.

What is the evidence that he would take that job in a heartbeat. You all are just as sensational as ESPN. How does anyone know he'll "take it in a heartbeat"? If Notre Dame was the job you give them credit for being, they would have it filled already.

                For whatever it's worth:

                FCS:
"Notre Dame quarterbacks coach Ron Powlus just left St. Xavier within a short time ago and told St. Xavier football coach Steve Specht that Notre Dame wants to have the coaching search completed within a week to 10 days."

You can give it a patriotic name, but it still sucks.

My opinion only (but one shared by many). I base it primarily on Kelly's refusal to come out and say that he was not interested. Even doc said in his blog this morning that Kelly would go if offered.

Look, I hope I'm wrong, I really do. I just find it hard to believe that he would turn down ND if they came calling.

Fill it allready? The job has been open since Monday afternoon.

I personally think Kelly will be staying at UC for a few years yet, but someone emailed me this link:
Sean O'Shea: Brian Kelly will be the next head football coach oat the University of Notre Dame, informed sources...

Fortunately for us, it doesn't appear that Notre Dame wants him.

                      I think you are right.

Not like Sean O'Shey is unbiased or anything. This guy clearly puts extensive resources and thought into his analytical articles:

                                Kelly-ND done deal?

I know Kelly said this morning that he is staying at UC so I don't know how much credibility this guy has, but its something that we should probably consider.
