UC again showed their dominance over a weak opponent. The Bearcats built a late lead and ended it in the 7th under mercy rules, 12-1. That completes the sweep and gives the Cats a 5-game winning streak.

Next up: Miami U at home on Tuesday evening @ 6:30. The SkinHawks are 7-8 (3-5 on the road), having played no one of note.

In this week's Top 25 per d1baseball.com, no B12 teams remain. Okie State just fell out.

The Bearcats dominated the Redhawks this evening, 12-3. Charlie Niehaus hammered a grand slam in the 6th to put this one away.

Next up, the Cats (11-6) travel to Tucson to open B12 play this Friday.

let's hope that the cats can win a couple out west. i don't have any mumbo jumbo, but it would seem that the competition level will be a little higher this weekend.

The Bearcats got off to a good start out in Tucson, going up 2-0 early, then tacking on another run in the 4th. Then came the 6th and the bottom fell out. Arizona took advantage of some wildness and an E3 in foul territory to take the lead, 4-3. It didn't stop there. The Wildcats reloaded the bases, then capped off the inning with a grand slam to pull away, 8-3. That was the final.

Game 2 will be tomorrow night at 9:00 ET(ESPN+).

Rough first inning for the Cats tonight. AZ knocked the ball all over the yard, while UC made two errant throws, allowing the Wildcats to go up, 4-0.

It got worse in the second. 12-0. Good night.

Final: AZ 14, UC 2. It's my understanding that the pitching staff is wracked by illness. At least two starters have been unavailable out in Tucson.

The Bearcats were noncompetitive this weekend, as the Wildcats swept UC, with none of the games close. Today, AZ ran away with an 11-1 walk-off in 6 innings (10 run rule). It was another bullpen day. UC really did not have a starting rotation available to them.

With Thursday's series opener versus BYU postponed, the Bearcats and Cougars played a DH this afternoon. After BYU stretched UC's losing streak to four games (7-5), the Cats rebounded for a 5-4 victory in the nightcap. UC are now 1-4 in B12 play, with one more game with BYU on for Sunday afternoon.

The Bearcats are in a slump of late. BYU took the rubber game today, 4-2, scoring all 4 in one inning. UC's 2nd run scored on an E4 when the 2nd baseman & right fielder collided on what should've been a routine inning-ending shallow fly.

As the old line goes, you can't steal 1st base. The Cats are mot hitting.

The Cats rebounded from their 1-5 streak, taking down #18 UofL, 12-2. UC pounded the Cards for 6 in the 2nd and 4 more in the 4th before coasting to the victory.

The Bearcats are now 13-11 and host UCF for three games, starting Friday at 6:00.

The Bearcats, leading 4-3 in the bottom of the 8th, picked up two more runs, then had to try to withstand a bases-loaded, two-out situation. A UCF player grounded hard between 1st & 2nd, with Loudon Brooks making a diving stop on the outfield turf and throwing a strike to 1st, just nipping the batter-runner to end the game. Final: 6-4.

The two teams play again tomorrow at home (3:00).

My wife and I went to the game today. What a beautiful day it was. The Cats left way too many men on bases in scoring position but ended up taking it in the 10th inning.
