At Virginia Tech, he averaged 9.7 points, 2.6 rebounds, 1.5 assists and shot 38.7% from three (not very good percentage-wise from two), including 84 starts.

He averaged just 17.9 mins/game for UConn, averaging 5.2 points. He averaged more than 7 points in UConn's tournament run, including 10 versus Arkansas, and 8 against both Gonzaga and Miami. He also was 27/31 from the FT line, including a perfect 9/9 in the NCAA Tournament.

      • Non-UC update, but how does Arkansas do it?

        Jeremiah Davenport aside...

Arkansas has already pulled in via the transfer portal:
        - Khalif Battle (Temple), a 6'5 guard who averaged 17.9 points this past season
        - Tramon Mark (Houston), a 6'5 guard who averaged 10.1 points this past season
        - Keyon Menifield (Washington), a 6'1 guard who averaged 10.0 points this past season

They now are apparently leading for Louisville's El Ellis, a 6'3 guard who averaged 17.7 points this past season

They also have a borderline 5-star freshman next year who is a guard

        That's a lot of guards!

Do you think Davenport may have mis-calculated by going to Arkansas? How much playing time will he see? Other than Menifield, who I have not seen, Davenport does not stand a chance against those other two in practice. If Davenport is going to play, his defense must improve big time. He may get killed in practice. On the other hand, let's not sell Davenport short. He may be able to hit enough shots in practice to get playing time.

          • The On3 algorithm prediction for Aaron Estrada that was previously highly pro UC is now showing UC as a slight favorite over Alabama -- but, again, this seems to largely be oriented around visits. But if he just visited Bama and UC could still be considered a leader, that would be nice.

            • Butler's Pierce Thomas is headed to Eastern Kentucky. The former 3-star recruit from Brownsburg, Indiana picked Butler over UC in the JB era -- redshirted his first season and averaged just 2.2 and 2.3 in 13.7 mins per game this past year.

Seems to be trending towards Alabama

An expert pick on On3, plus if you search hard enough online and on Twitter you can find chatter

A lot can change between now and April 29. Honestly in this new NIL era I never get really excited until we get a commitment. There are just too many new dimensions, too many unknowns, and too many programs skirting the few rules that remain.

                      • As Hofstra's Aaron Estrada trends towards Alabama (there is now a Crystal Ball pick on 247 in addition to the "expert" prediction on On3), perhaps all eyes on Butler's Simas Lukosius.

From last night's BBP podcast (Bearcat Journal), it sounded as though Lukosius may be visiting BYU and then headed to UC later this week.

I like him with two years of eligibility left, as many of the top portal guys (including Estrada) are just one and done -- plus you honestly don't fully know Estrada's eligibility situation given that he's going for his fourth school in five years.

                        • It would have been nice to have Estrada, but I think if they have 2 openings(only one for sure right now) I would agree with you, and prefer a guy who played at a bigger conference for two potential years over one. You have to keep swinging as he won't be the last guy we lose out on to a bigger school. It's very hard to say how a guy's game is going to translate coming from a lower league, and in recruiting sometimes the hype and internet chatter brings guys to a higher level of impact than they may actually be. Only time will tell.

Another solid but not necessarily amazing Xavier (Ohio) pickup - could be their starting center.

That Rothstein post is from 2021. Some account out there retweeting stuff from years ago.
