We opened as 1.5-point favorites for tonight's game and the spread has already moved to 2.5.
With Dickinson and McCullar out, that's 40% of the 74 points from our first match-up that Kansas will have to account for elsewhere.
In their place, we'll see some combination of their two true freshman combo guards in 6'4 Elmarko Jackson (4.1 ppg, 18.6 mpg) and 6'3 Jamari McDowell (1.7 ppg, 6.8 mpg) along with their two grad transfers in 6'8 Parker Braun (2.2 ppg, 7.7 mpg) an 6'4 Nicolas Timberlake (4.6 ppg, 14.1 mpg) who came from Santa Clara and Towson just to hold the roster together for this season.
Furphy killed us to the tune of 23 and 11 on 7/8 shooting in Lawrence, but with Newman on him this game, I suspect he'll be far less efficient.

One more word about the WVU game. The announcers said someone was the leader besides SL. It was a tourney game, and some guys just didn't perform. SL was cool and showed leadership that was badly needed. Hopefully the nerves are settled down now and all will play well under pressure. I give love to Aziz and Reynolds. They beat up WVU so bad that the bigs lost it with technicals and then quit. Well done. Aziz was all over the place in the first half. I really enjoyed watching him. Reynolds had that power put back and I saw disgust in the eyes of the WVU player. Well done.Comment
