There was such talk back then that filtered through the expansion news, but I haven't seen anything recently.Brent Wyrick

This is actually funny. Written by a UCF guy who points out Kliavkoff's comments. I had to laugh a few times.

Here's an interesting new piece from the LA Times that mentions that the CA BOR long ago delegated the authority to make decisions as to such things as conference affiliation to each member school. They are trying to find a way to compensate CA-Berkeley, if the the BOR are unable to stop UCLA from departing.

The ACC has been talking about mergers and even the creation of a new conference. Sources - ACC administrators had informal discussions about possible Pac-12, Big 12 additions or merger (espn.com)

My thought is that since it has been quiet on the realignment front of college football, news agencies are now trying to drum up news. These say that the Big 10 will add PAC schools to be put on Amazon.
Pac-12 in danger of eventual collapse as Big Ten considers further expansion, Big 12 interest looms (msn.com)
Pac-12 reportedly at risk of collapsing due to further Big Ten expansion - Sports Illustrated All Cardinal News, Analysis and More
This has the same content but also analysis it a little bit further. Big Ten could expand (again) if a media partner is willing to pay for another substandard package of games (msn.com)
They are all based on the same source and I suspect there is nothing here other than someone is trying to get followers.

Maybe Washington and Oregon will be available to the Big 12. tosu AD says no to future Pac 12 teams. Maybe in this case, tosu just did a favor to the Big 12 (thus to UC). Ohio State athletic director slams the door on additional Big Ten acquisitions of Pac-12 schools (msn.com)

PAC 12 media rights hit the open market after no deal with ESPN or FOX after negotiation window closes.
I’m not an expert on media right but this seems bad .

I would think that ESPN and Fox had little interest in spending mega millions on the league, so they low balled them. The PAC as arrogant as they are, expected something similar to the Big 10. I see this bad for the PAC and potentially good for the Big 12. I wonder what backroom deals Fox and ESPN are trying to broker now.

Kennesaw going to Conference USA. Conference USA adds Kennesaw State, Owls to join league in 2024 as part of transition to FBS - CBSSports.com
This is a conference in name only since the latest round.

The rest is my interpretation/surmising. The future scheduled games on Fox would be road games that the SEC would not control so both schools balked because they want to make a bowl game. I am also reading into the tea leaves that the four corner schools do not add enough value so Brent is content to wait out the top Pac 10 schools to see if they ask to join because it is apparent that the Big Ten is looking at ACC for next expansion. I have all along wished for Washington and Oregon and Utah, plus 1 to get the Big 12 to seixteen teams. I hope that pans out as best option, though likelihood is somewhere around 50% because those schools are still hoping for Big Ten bailouts.Red and Black are more of an Attitude than merely a color combination.

This is entertaining if nothing else. Describing each PAC team with one word. Oh, more than not, it is not impressive. Describing every Pac-12 team with one word through Week 6 (yahoo.com)
