Red--n-black, I agree with you on your topics. Since they make sense, it will never happen. I just do not know how to put the genie back into the bottle. I do not blame a kid for wanting to leave a college if his coach/coaches just left. I like the idea of having the coach stay through the bowl season for the players and university. Just think how it would minimize the domino effect. I think that coaches that get into trouble with one school should be required to take the sanctions with him to any new school. However, I do not think that there are any defined rules to break anymore. It is the wild, wild west and everything goes.

Instead of coach taking penalties to next job, make offending coach ineligible for period of penalties

This is a pretty telling look of what NIL is doing. This contains anonymous interviews with incoming recruits at the UA All-American game. ($)

This has got to be a rules violation.

other players are saying that they have been approached as well.It is a violation as it is tampering. Only after you are in the portal can they legally be contacted. How will that work out.

It is. It doesn't matter much if there's no one to enforce it.

After no action on Sean Miller, you can get away with murder & the NCAA won't do a thing.

except for Texas as wife beating is still a firing offense.

This is a deep dive on this week's NCAA Convention from Matt Brown at Extra Points. Lots of NIL and enforcement stuff in here including why they haven't done more on NIL issue. I think this is paywalled but I can't tell because I'm a subscriber. (~$)

While the NCAA cannot enforce current rules, either fir fear or litigation or a need to penalize 88% of schools with Death Penalty, the NCAA can do two things to hold member institutions in check. One, require student athletes to use an NCAA certified/approved agent. Second give a stop dead date that NIL deals cannot be linked to pay-4-play.

The NCAA has authority to validate student athletes eligibility and govern NIL under this asoect of rules to keep players eligible while promoting abikity to capitalize on NIL. Further, the NCAA can penalize students, coaches, schools, and/or boosters that create pay-4-play incentives and take away some arguments that athletes are university employees.

Football player Cam Jones has an NIL deal with the WWE
#Bearcats QB turned TE turned OL Cam Jones has an NIL deal with WWE, which makes all kinds of sense.

This may or may not be paywalled but looks like the NCAA has new NIL rules, if they can enforce any of them without getting sued repeatedly. Sounds like they're basically waiting for congress to jump in and bail them out. (~$)

The first NIL violator is Miami and booster John Ruiz. In WBB for tampering with the Cavinder sisters of all things. ($)

It’s clear that, for the NCAA’s purposes, the next shoe to drop in an NIL infractions case will need to be a big one.
