The Bearcats traveled up to Oxford yesterday to take on the SkinHawks. The Cats' bats were silent for most of the game, and they went to the 7th down 2-0. UC loaded the bases. Then Kerrington Cross unloaded them with a grand slam. The Bearcats added two more runs in the inning to take a 6-2 lead.

Miami battled back and cut the lead to 6-4, which held until they batted again in the bottom of the 9th. Brandon Scheurer, who had shut off further damage in the 8th, stayed on the mound to try to close it out. He walked the leadoff hitter on four pitches. After getting two outs, Scheurer again lost control, throwing eight straight pitches out of the zone to load the bases. Jordan Bischel pulled Christian Mitchelle from 3B to try to get the final out. Mitchelle induced a 4-6 FC to secure the victory.

UC now stand at 17-11 (4-5) and head to Lubbock for a three-game series starting Friday evening.
