”I can’t remember being so confused by a recruitment to be fair. There’s a lot of conflicting info out there. I switched back to cincy after having a other convo. That’s subject to change, though. My head is spinning”

Once a cycle or so a recruitment comes along that keeps everyone guessing until the final days, and the case of Isaiah Collier definitely fills that role for this class. As we sit just a little more than a month away from the five-star guard’s November commitment timetable, things seem to get murkier by the day.

In the interest of transparency, I’ll point out that my FutureCast remains in favor of Cincinnati only because Rivals’ system won’t allow me to withdraw it without replacing it with a prediction for another school. The truth is, I have no idea what’s going on here anymore. People that would know seem divided. A few weeks back, some close to Collier felt Cincy had separated itself. These days, that line of thinking has faded. Some sources have decided to speak in riddles. Others insist Collier’s family is planning a move to L.A. to be able to watch him at USC, which depending on who you ask, is once again trending as the frontrunner. Michigan remains strangely confident, even if almost everyone else seems to think the Wolverines are all but eliminated.

Alas, whispers and uncertainty are what make recruiting interesting, and this one checks those boxes. I don’t know which way the wind is going to blow here, so I’ll just repeat what I was told by one involved coach this week: “Everyone always seems confident, but there’s a lot of time between now and November.”

What does that mean exactly? **** if I know, but it’s provocative. I wish I could change my FutureCast to an exaggerated shoulder shrug.

(^^^ Nice - "h-e-l-l" was bleeped out above haha)

Seems like Rob Cassidy no longer has picked UC for Collier - Futurecast page says Cassidy's forecast of IC to UC is now "unlikely" --- not even sure what that means haha

          Cassidy also wrote this: "

Everyone loves a mystery, and Collier’s recruitment qualifies as one as things stand. USC seems to be trending in the right direction and the smoke surrounding the Trojans is thick. Still, at least one person close to Collier insists Cincy is the team to beat. Then, there’s the Michigan situation. Everyone seems to agree the Wolverines are running in third here, but Juwan Howard and company certainly aren't behaving as such and they remain confident they are as much of an option as anyone else. USC seems to have the most buzz as things stand today, but Collier’s recruitment is a bit of a mystery and seems to change with the wind." https://basketballrecruiting.rivals....e-recruitments

          • All we can do is wait for a decision by Collier. At this point, it is so uncertain that no school can rest and must push hard to get him to commit. In the end, he will commit to the school that suits his game best. Hopefully, that school is UC. Go Bearcats!!

                      • USC is fighting it out with NC State for 4-star guard Silas Demary. Demary picked up a USC crystal ball pick. If Collier can play with Demary at USC, he can play with James at UC.

Don't forget about Griffith. He is a guard too.

He is more likely to be a wing player (small forward) or call it a 3 guard offense if thats his preferred designation. Wouldn't be a lead guard but could help bring the ball up occasionally and score off the dribble from the wing. He gives us great flexibility as does Skillings but I would be surprised if he plays the 2.

                            • If I were a casual observer and read Colliers assessment of his final schools, I would interpret his response to favor the Bearcats. Obviously nobody knows but his comments and objectives are more flattering of UC than the others in my opinion. Fingers crossed.

Demary is set to announce today and is expected to pick USC, I believe.

The on3 USC guy logged USC picks for Demary, Collier and Page -- not sure if this is well-sourced or just the local guy picking but we'll see...

UPDATE - Demary committed to USC
