We may never find out the first package offered because it may be shared with PAC members behind closed doors, and then they immediately start jumping ship. So what we may learn of is the 2nd or 3rd package after they add SMU, SDSU, etc to backfill

The SEC will not waste time with PAC table scraps. If Pac-12 crumbles, don't expect the SEC to covet Oregon or Washington (statesman.com)
The SEC is going to stay in the south and east which means that they will wait until Clemson, FSU, Miami become available. If that is the case, the ACC will be in the situation that the PAC finds itself.

This one discusses a merger between the ACC and the PAC. It does not really believe that it will happen because the ACC would have to vote to dissolve their GOR. If that were the case, the major teams would bolt to the SEC/BIG 10. It also mentions that the Big 12 would become the third of the 3 power conferences. As a side note, it states that Utah should stay in the PAC because it is an easier conference and road to the CFP. Pac-12 mailbag: Merger with ACC seems like a solution, but it's much easier said than done (tucson.com)

Is there a big reason why the ongoing Big12 needs 2 teams in Utah? Just asking!

Speculation is that Utah does not want to be in the Big 12. I see no market value for them unless they continue to win. Right now, it appears that they will be the big fish in the little pond of what will become the new PAC 12. Losing UCLA, the PAC does not have a basketball league except only Arizona which may bolt.

I can tell you that the Utah AD is adamantly against anything even insinuating they're headed to the BIg 12. He's out here refuting reporters on Twitter.

That's a bit unfortunate since they are probably the best football school currently. Arizona and Colorado bring nothing to the football field currently... though that might change in a couple years under Prime.

Interesting take from Denver about how Deon Sanders is creating conference options at Colorado. Keeler: Thank goodness for Coach Prime. Otherwise, CU Buffs could get buried by new Pac-12 TV deal. Or lack thereof. (msn.com)

Oregon's new President just happens to be Wisconsin's past president who voted to accept UCLA and USC into the Big 10. Incoming University of Oregon president lauded Big Ten expansion while at Wisconsin, won’t say his preferred conference for Ducks (msn.com)

                  • This article states that no PAC team will leave for the Big 12 because of academic value. It states that the academic money coming in will outweigh the TV money. The Unfolding Stable Dichotomy in College Football : CFB (reddit.com)

                      • If pac10 tv deal that is being pitched to the school presidents was as good as Canzano claims, it would've been leaked or immediately approved/announced. Every minute they don't have a deal lowers their credibility

                        • Reverse Expansion !!!! The NEC has lost a team. St. Francis NY has eliminated all athletics. They were D-1 in basketball.

Then there's this. Help me out here with Outkick. Is that a FOX property these days?

Fox purchased Outkick in May 2021. I have no odea if this article is true or a product of Endeavor PR firm. Some reports take a decidely Big 12 stance and some clearly slant to Pac10.

My two cents: The Pac10 should be able to build a more solid product with Oregon and Washington as anchors than the Big 12 without UT-Austun and OU. My almost any metrics the brand powerof Ore/Wash is bigger than any combination of 3 Big 12 teams (IMO). With that Yormark has been able to get more value from the tv market reach and having content across multiple time zones. The remaining Pac10 schools have more world class educational institutions and good football value at the top. So why did the Big 12 get a quick good media rights deal? In part due to potential, in part due to time slots, and in part because the Networks don't want the bottomhalf of Pac10.

In essence: the Yormark contracted Endeavor PR firm is winning the perception game and has sold the Networks on his expansion plan. if Fox can get 4 Pac 10 schools in Big 12, they keep desirable content at a bargain rate compared to letting top two schools join Big 10. I still maintain 4 corners is a smokescreen on Big 12 part, and you see ASU, AZ, and UT AD or president statements because they are the bait to lure big prize. Yormark and Fox will take any two 4 corners school if it means also adding the two Pacific Northwest big brands. This may be the only mistake that Brett has made. He'd likely have better shot at those top targets by taking all 4 Pacific NW schools.
