it makes sense that he's coming back home if he was contemplating retirement from basketball anyways. Now he can come home, play one more year, and figure out his future plans. Hopefully he can spark some of that Iowa shooting while he's here
This question is for those with more intel than I, but if Simas' Lukosius decides to transfer elsewhere is there any one else that we've targeted to fill that guard / wing spot to focus on that hasn't made their choice yet?
Listened to the first half of last night's BBP podcast and -- if I recall correctly -- Chad B heard Simas could make a decision soon (maybe Tuesday/Wednesday). Maybe some more intel behind the BCJ paywall, but nothing said on the pod suggesting he was a UC lean or that he was alternatively unlikely to end up here.
- 6'2 guard
- From Greensboro, NC (!)
- Former 4-star recruit
- Two seasons at NC State, this past year was at LSU
- Three year averages: 7.6 points, 2.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 30.9% three, 77.3% from FT in 22+ mins per game
- 45 starts in three seasons
LSU center Shawn Phillips into the portal. The Dayton native was recruited for a while by UC, definitely by JB's staff but maybe even going back to Mick?
1.4 and 2.2 in 20 games as a freshman this past year.
Not sure what the rest of Huggins' roster will look like, but WVU doing well in the portal:
1) Arizona's PG, Kerr Kriisa
2) Syracuse's top big, Jesse Edwards
3) RaeQuan Battle, a wing from Montana State who averaged 17.7 ppg and scored 27 in the NCAA Tournament versus K State

Chad mentioned on BCJ pod last night that Simas may be deciding in next 48 hours (from last night) but not necessarily an announcement in 48. Take it FWIW... the longer this drags, the less confident I feel. Great if he commits, but if he doesn't at least they could grab someone else -- but obviously have to build that relationship with mystery player X.

This matches up with the rumor he is considering pulling from the portal, and makes sense if Wes told him there is a deadline.
Red and Black are more of an Attitude than merely a color combination.

Is there a deadline to when the portal entrants must sign and if so, is there anyone left in the portal that could conceivably be of any help to the team?
