So here's the thing. Parents want to serve meals in college? This is not AAU/HS and there are COVID protocols to be dealt with. Of course you can't be involved.Originally posted by GoBearcats31 View PostAnonymous quotes from a parent to Jeremy Rauch of Fox19 https://twitter.com/FOX19Jeremy/stat...29537522524164Brent Wyrick

I wish I could. That's something I'm not wired in on at this point. Might be as soon as next week if I had to guess. Players are being interviewedOriginally posted by bearcatjd View Post
Ok if that is the case, can you estimate when this might happen?Brent Wyrick

This really bothers me. As I said, if they are looking to fire Coach Brannen, there has to be more to it than that. I advocated firing the coach early on based on no signed recruits last fall (with a depleted roster at that time) and the first blow out loss to Houston, which showed just how far we had fallen. But if they are going to fire him now, those comments from one parent can't be enough, and to do so would be unfair to the guy. So again, there must be something more.Originally posted by Lobot View Post

Well said. It is shaping up to be a "Nancy Zimpher" like multi-year blow to the program. I don't have a lot of confidence in Cunningham's ability to handle this without causing significant damage. It can't drag out.Originally posted by GangstaTakester View PostWhat a cluster. You have a portal full of kids, but who is going to come with a lame duck coach. Keep him or fire him, but don't "Nancy Zimpher" the program again.

There absolutely has to be more than that. I think there is. I don't know specifics but I have a feeling it's not all good.Originally posted by longtimefan View Post

If you want to be a hard *** coach that's fine but you need to communicate that to incoming players ahead of time during recruiting. I don't think that happened. You can't say evertything is rosy and surpise the **** out of people when they arrive on campus.

Mike Saunders has known Brannen forever and he's out. Something is wrong or something changed with JB.

I'm not saying this is the reason but losing your father and then going into Covid lockdown would be a problem to anyone.Brent Wyrick

Does Cunningham and JB have a history or crossed paths prior to each coming here? I mean there's one thing to want a coach gone and another thing to being able to find just cause. But to sabotage an entire ball season making it inevitable to being a failure is not the type AD I would want at UC either. That's on par to being Zimphered! Dragging this thing on until next week is exactly what Alex Mecham and guests were trying to avoid I.e. burning down what they built.Originally posted by Lobot View Post
Cunningham definitely wants him gone. Don't ask me how I know.

Chad Brendel on with Lance Mccalister currently. Main Points

Investigation began 4-6 weeks ago internally
Believes the statement clearly stated that Cunningham wants to fire John Brannen
No communication between AD and Coach outside of text messages. No phone calls, no in person meetings.
Kills recruiting. Lance called coach a dead man walking on the recruiting trail and Chad agreed.
Both agreed they are squeezing John Brannen trying to use leverage but completely driving the program into the ground while doing so.
Believes John Brannen has coached his last game at the University of Cincinnati.

If all this is true ( and I'm not denying it) then the podcast put out by Alex M just this past week was either just a fluff piece, or another diversionary tactic and AM and the rest of the alums are in cahoots with Cunningham or AM and His guests of that particular episode knew or knows anything that is going on internally within the athletic dept. There was not one hint at or suggestion of JB not being the coach here anymore. I can't believe that these former players, T Neil etc., would have had no idea that an internal investigation was being done for the past four or five weeks, famous words says C'mon man!Last edited by Rufus; 03-26-2021, 06:46 PM.
