Great find... and we all remember JC came from Minnesota.

If Pac10 loses 2 or more members to Big 12, Colorado will not be one of the ones joining. Also, CU has a Natty, but it was over 30 years ago when they were in the Big 8. Things have changed dramatically in Boulder since then, with the past ten years nearly a football nightmare.
all bearcats - The likelihood of Deion Sanders in Cincinnati keeps dropping.

According to Su’a Cravens, Sanders is “95%” heading to Colorado to take their head coaching position.

“I’m hearing that Primetime aka Deion Sanders will in fact be leaving JSU after this season,” Cravens tweeted. “It’s come down to two teams, Colorado & Cinci. I’m also hearing that it’s ‘95% a done deal’ he goes to Boulder next year 👀🔥 PAC-12 about to get real interesting with the Transfer Portal!”

Sanders is the hottest coaching candidate in the country this cycle and was offered by Colorado last week.

He is one of the top choices for Cincinnati fans, but there has been no indication from UC’s end that the school is interested in hiring him as their 44th head coach.

I think you're looking at Joe Rossi here. Minn has co-coordinators though

Yes to all of the above. When these jobs open I'm pretty sure coaches have their representation reach out and express interest. For example, years ago when Huggs was let go, Pete Gillen was among those who expressed interest in the job. I always thought that was hilarious.

I think the reason 'Coach Prime' has not yet settled on Colorado is because he is fielding other offers. I suspect there is a bidding war for him right now. Can he do the job? Why not? He has had very good success as a head coach, both recruiting and on the field, at Jackson State.

The name of the game these days is NIL. Who moves the needle more for NIL and media visibility than Sanders? Sanders could put UC on a media map that would uplift all UC sports, not just football. He is far and away my #1 choice.

            • Agreed... Prime #1... Urban #2... then big dropoff after that. fanbase/recruits aren't going to get excited about Gino... I think my #3 is probably Minter just because just because his dad was loyal but I'm not sure recruits know who he is.

              • I still hpoe they go for Urban. will retain all players get better new one at least a winner at all college level. Gino is not a HC material.

                • I don't quite agree with the comments on 'rebuild' especially in this transfer portal era. Look what TN did in (less than) 2 years under Heupel and Golesh while facing uncertainty with NCAA sanctions from the previous regime. They identified players that fit their scheme and coached up everyone else who stayed. Recall, a lot of their top players bailed to Alabama and Oklahoma (Eric Gray, Key Lawrence, Wanya Morris, Henry To'oTo'o and many others left). When Bill Snyder was a KSU he made a living off JUCOs and his teams were always competitive. Maybe you don't want to build a program off JUCOs, transfers, medical redshirts, etc. I understand, but really good players don't stay at one school if they don't get PT or if they are really good then they're off to the NFL if 3 years removed from high school.

Also I think Prater played a lot better in the last game than some folks are saying in this forum. His WRs could have helped him out more; first start, stout opponent, I thought he played well. I believe if his first start was an away game, then he would have been a little more relaxed because (as others have pointed out) he had some hometown jitters - probably trying a bit too much in front of family and friends. Bring in the right coach with a good offensive mind, keep Gino, and Prater will break out next year. Lots of good WRs in the portal too.

                  • I'm starting to warm up to the idea of Gino being a good choice for the next UC head coach:

                    1. He is a true UC patriot and bleeds Red and Black. He won't be looking for the next HC payday,
                    2. He's been with Luke all 6 season, understands the policies and procedures implemented by Luke to make UC a powerhouse, and can keep them in tact,
                    3. He's well known and liked by the big $ UC boosters, the UC Board, Dr Pinto and the fans,
                    4. He's a great recruiter and should be able to keep most of the current 2023 signing class and current players from jumping ship,
                    5. Look at Zach Taylor for the Bengals. He was (and still is) a mediocre OC, but has turned into a great HC. Gino just needs to hire a competent OC.

                    • 1. Prime
                      2. Golesh
                      3. Minter (doubt they even were allowed to talk to him considering Harbaugh and UM situation)
                      4. Gino I am OK with this and agree with Barklee's assessment

                      Absolutely, Positively NO to Urban

                      • Don't want to beat a dead horse, but there is NO difference in committing infractions vs. tolerating them and covering them up or ignoring them. If you want to cut him a hall pass on his o$u dealings, so be it, but his record at Florida was horrid. This is not my opinion, look it up. Program run amuck with dozens of arrests and no ramifications. No thanks for UC.

                        • I think it is a mistake to eliminate Meyer given the dire straits in which we could potentially find the football program. Sanders or Meyer would be outstanding choices for UC at this critical time in the program’s history and development. This hire absolutely cannot fail and those two bring instant credibility to the program, which is precisely what it needs right now. Hit the ground running, sustain the momentum built by Fickell, restore the commitments from de-committed recruits, stop the bleeding on the transfer portal and convince new recruits to come to UC. Everyone deserves a chance to redeem oneself and this could be a chance for Meyer to do that while grooming the next head coach to take over when he leaves.

                          • Per Justin Williams, candidates list down to four: Sean Lewis, Alex Golesh, Gino & Coombs. He did say, though, that the way John Cunningham works (quietly), there's always the chance of a mystery candidate, but it's unlikely.

tOSU had him on a tight rope and when he covered up for a coach he was fired. UC would need to d the same. I think we did it for a former BB coach
